Changing how the trailer rides is a huge issue. Coming up the Alcan with my brother from Colorado we were towing his trailer. All the weight was in the front and it tore up the towing vehicle. We should have had the weight over the trailer wheels not on the tongue. It also looked funny but we could not see it at the time. The front of the truck was way high and the tail end was low same with the hitch it was low and the back end was up in the air. My grandfather came out of his house in South Dakota and started to chuckle. Wish he would have shared what was on his mind. He knew the trailer was going to give us Hades. And it did it made the front of the truck light and squirrely. On steep inclines it was kind hard to see over the hood to the road. Broke down in Canada and had to back track 200 miles to get a rear-end part. Daniel fixed it lying in a gravel parking lot. The up side a mechanic loaned him the tools and gave him some advice. I’m no mechanic so all I did was drinks or tools. The truck had oil change in Calgary. Previous owner had filled it with 50+ weight to hide oil leaks. Final straw was blowing the engine coming down the hill into Palmer.
