We are meeting the most amazing people in the most amazing places. Our first stop was at our friends the Oporto’s in Yuma, AZ. There we had a fun time playing video games, swimming in the Colorado River, and visiting their church. We stayed for a week, and then drove 3 hours to Goodyear, AZ. Or so we thought when we came close to the 25th mile marker away from Goodyear our truck suddenly died. Since my dad is such a gear head he used his code scanner to trouble shoot the problem. Meanwhile, Gavin and I were facing the not so friendly sun. I had to crouch behind the driver’s seat to get shade since the car was not on. So in relief I put my window down. That helped because every time a semi truck passed it let a cool breeze in. my mom kicked us out of the car when we were sure that the tow truck was coming. Our friends the doerkson’s helped to pick the kids and my mom up while my dad waited patiently for the tow trucks. The next few days with the doerkson’s we swam in their pool, had fun building awesome Lego’s and going to their church. Our beast of a car went to pepboys but our luck was not so good there, so we took the car to a custom repair shop and they fixed it. That week we had some fun staying at their grandparent’s house with big 10 feet deep pool, slide and diving board. We also stopped by the apple store, Lego store, Tilly’s, and borders. The biggest event at their house was Blake’s birthday, he got to chose his b-day dinner and had presents and cupcakes after. Then we hooked up and headed to Las Vegas. There we meet our friends Luis and Cort, then we had lunch at California pizza kitchen. Then made head way to battle mountain NV. Just to let you know how small Battle Mountain is it has a McDonalds and that’s it. Once we got there the next day we started working on the roof immediately. We had only met the pastor so everybody was new. On the first day we striped off half the roof and we were beat. Day two we put new shingles on that half with help of people that go to the church. Then everybody went to Grandma Bev’s and grandpa Ron’s for dinner. Grandpa Ron is redoing a t bucket, has two old corvettes, and makes awesome custom bikes. On Sunday Luis and cort lead worship, I did the projector and my brother was the sound guy. We striped the other side of the roof off before the service and started with the new shingles after. Meanwhile we put on the family fun night and had a blast. On Monday we finished the roof. When Tuesday came we had some fun and toured a gold mine. We went on big diggers, dump trucks and wore orange vests and white hats. It was amazing! Court and Luis left for L.A. after the tour, and then we went shooting with Grandpa Ron. We then headed for Winnemucca, NV. We went to church then hung out with the pastor and family. We drove yesterday to Dayton, N.V. and are now at starbucks. We soon are going to Virginia City, an old cowboy town, to have some fun.
